This piece was all about color when I began. I found a turquoise color I absolutely loved, so I decided to build a piece around it. I seem to find it hard to get away from working with acrylic paint and a lot of water- I just love how different colors will bleed together and run down the canvas when I add water. It's always a spectacular effect.
As you can see, I put my quilled paper pieces in the white areas and worked vertically, abstractly bringing to mind waterfalls, bubbles, and even moss covered rocks. I added a few splatters over the paper pieces to add a little more of the color I loved so much... :)
Here are the side view pictures. My paintings are so three dimensional, I've been trying recently to show how they stand out from the canvas. This piece I simply adhered these quilled pieces to my canvas using gel medium. For a lot of my pieces, I will use paper clay to really bring the focus off the canvas.

I really like this one!
