Next week, I'll have another article published by Mixed Media Art. This time, I'm doing a review of Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Inks. I've been experimenting with different techniques all week, and I'll be sharing my ideas in full in the article. In the meantime, here's a little piece to whet your appetite. :)
One of the first things I tried was using india inks with alcohol inks together on clear sheets of acetate. I knew that alcohol ink would work great, but I wasn't sure about the india ink. I am happy to report it worked wonderfully. I tried using the india ink first, then using alcohol ink over the top- perfect. The ink stayed true and didn't run (as long as I didn't rub really hard). I also tried using the alcohol ink first, with india ink over the top to see if anything would change. Nope. Still great! The pigment in the india ink set I got is great- all of the colors are so vibrant and stand out against any surface so far, even black. But I'm starting to get ahead of myself... don't worry, I'll reveal everything next week! Have a Happy Mother's Day!
